[001] Video/Action - New Bark Town - backdated to 11/08
[Video]
Salutations, Johto! And- Kanto, I believe?
[She's heard of neither of these places, but that's no reason not to be proper about it.]
I'm not sure who would need to be alerted to a medical emergency, but the nice lady who greeted me seemed VERY confused. But very kind, too! She gave me all KINDS of supplies that I'm sure will be MOST helpful.
But- um... I'm very certain she is NOT my mother. And this device says I'm someplace called 'New Bark Town', but it doesn't seem to have an actual map of the area, or anyplace to go for emergency services. If anyone could offer help, I would be VERY grateful!
[She looks about to click off the transmission, but stops herself.]
Oh, I'm sorry! My name is Penny. It's a pleasure to meet you all!
[And with a small, mechanical wave, the video ends.]
[Action]
[Not too long after her video transmission, Penny can be found in the general vicinity of everywhere, New Bark Town. Depending on when you find her, she's alternately sitting somewhere sheltered and thoroughly pouring over her Pokégear and Trainer's Handbook, or just sort of... exploring everything. Literally, almost everything, like it's a brand new experience. A Joltik is with her, typically perched on her shoulder and managing to look bored with everything.]

Don't mind that woman. She's very kind, and I'm sure her intentions are good, but she thinks she's everyone's mother. It's certainly strange.
As for help figuring out where you are... I'm afraid you won't be able to find your way back home while in these lands.
Re: [video]
[That's normal, right?]
Oh... I'd assumed we were far from Vale -I've never heard of Johto OR Kanto- but there's no way back at all?
[Not that there's transportation to random settlements outside the kingdoms, but she's pretty sure she can walk far enough if it comes to that.]
[Though that's not surprising. She's been here long enough to hear about all sorts of places that don't exist where she comes from.]
And I'm afraid there isn't. Some people have been stuck in these lands for years now, and they haven't found any hint of how to return.
Re: [video]
[Careful, unless you really want to hear about
HomestuckRWBY, Elsa.]...Oh, no. Father's going to be SO worried-
[She didn't even run off on her own, this time.]

That woman's always confused. It's best not to question it.
Re: Video
[At least she's probably not in danger, if this has been going on for such a long time.]
...The next town, that's called Cherrygrove, isn't it?
[This place is strange enough she wants to make sure she was looking at that map right.]
Video
Yes, it is. You'll encounter wild Pokemon along the way, the one you've started with will likely battle with them. It's a natural process for them.
Re: Video
[She takes a second to dig through her bag for a moment, pulling out a Pokéball.]
It's really inside here?
[And. Just kind of poking at the release button, without waiting for any kind of affirmation.]

You're in a live action video again!
Re: video
[Pondering that for a second, before apparently remembering she's talking to someone.]
But thank you! And it's a pleasure to meet you!
Re: video
... Kind of literally, they give so many of us the same outfit, it's pretty lame.
Re: video
[She thinks for a second.]
I think it MIGHT have been meant for a man, actually. But it looked like my size, at least!

Re: video

[Then again, has anyone even tried?]
It's nice to meet you, Penny. I'm Captain Ash, and I'm sorry to inform you that you won't get anything resembling services until you get to Cherrygrove, emergency or not. New Bark Town's not exactly meant for us to stay.
Re: [video]
[Still upset that apparently there's nothing to be done.]
...At least she seems happy enough, if she's been doing it for that long!
[But easily distracted enough to not dwell on it, at least.]
[Shame they're not enough to last until Cherrygrove, though.]
Re: [video]
[She hasn't actually looked at the bento, and she doesn't really have a baseline for packed lunches if she had, but she's willing to take Ash's word.]
...oh, I should go back and thank her, then! Before we leave.

Hi, Penny. My name is Xion. Um...hang on, my friend wrote a guide for new people, I'll send it over.
[Attch: Trainingguide.txt]
It's a lot to take in, but I think it's better to have something to read on your own time than the whole info dump people usually give.
Re: [Video 5ever]
[Repeating oneself, like random emphasis, apparently comes from being a robo-puppet.]
Oh, thank you! This looks MUCH more in-depth than the Trainer's handbook!
[Yeah, she's going through this all at once as soon as she gets the chance.]

Hiya there, Penny! My name's Jimmy Two-Shoes, nice to meetcha! I'm sure a lot of folks have already given you the run down, but if you've got any other questions I can try to answer 'em for you!
What kind of starter Pokemon did you get? They should be with you, somewhere.
Re: [Video]
[If it weren't for waking up in a strange place in a sadly crazy lady's house, this would basically be the best day ever.]
The one that was in the bag? That would be Amber!
[Penny reaches off-screen for a second before producing a Joltik in her hand. The tiny spider waves its front legs at the camera in what could either be greeting or an invitation to a street brawl.]
The Pokégear device said she's called a 'Joltik'! She's just ADORABLE, isn't she?
[And as scrappy as Heloise too, goodness.]
That was before she evolved, anyway. Now she's a whole lot bigger, but still just as cute!
[You know, as cute as a...giant electric spider can be.]

video;
Everyone kinda worries about her, but there doesn't seem like there's anything to be done. She's just a mom with like a bazillion adopted kids at this point.
Re: video;
Does she really greet everyone that arrives here that way?
