I'm not sure who would need to be alerted to a medical emergency, but the nice lady who greeted me seemed VERY confused. But very kind, too! She gave me all KINDS of supplies that I'm sure will be MOST helpful.

But- um... I'm very certain she is NOT my mother. And this device says I'm someplace called 'New Bark Town', but it doesn't seem to have an actual map of the area, or anyplace to go for emergency services. If anyone could offer help, I would be VERY grateful!

[She looks about to click off the transmission, but stops herself.]

Oh, I'm sorry! My name is Penny. It's a pleasure to meet you all!

[And with a small, mechanical wave, the video ends.]

[Not too long after her video transmission, Penny can be found in the general vicinity of everywhere, New Bark Town. Depending on when you find her, she's alternately sitting somewhere sheltered and thoroughly pouring over her Pokégear and Trainer's Handbook, or just sort of... exploring everything. Literally, almost everything, like it's a brand new experience. A Joltik is with her, typically perched on her shoulder and managing to look bored with everything.]

Yes, it is. You'll encounter wild Pokemon along the way, the one you've started with will likely battle with them. It's a natural process for them.

[She takes a second to dig through her bag for a moment, pulling out a Pokéball.]

This world revolves around them. There are hundreds of varieties.

[Lust turns her 'gear to bring her Spheal and shiny Houndour into the frame.]

They can live in those balls, but I don't keep mine in there. They bond with humans.

[Now holding a Joltik in her free hand, looking totally enamored. It... might take a second before she remembers you're there, Lust.]

I've no idea what a Faunus is, but whatever we were before this place, we're all human now.

A great many of us weren't. I wasn't.

Faunus are a humanoid species displaying animalistic features such as ears or tails, and are typically more physically capable than humans in terms of strength, agility, and the senses. Though there have been significant steps made towards Faunus equality, many of them still face discrimination on a daily basis.

[All that comes out in a single breath, almost like a reflex. Penny shifts a bit awkwardly as she finishes.]
